What is color rendering CRI

Color rendering refers to the degree of reduction of the color of an object by the lighting source, which is quantitatively expressed by the color rendering index (CRI). The CIE color rendering index is a measure of the degree of consistency between the color of any one of the 14 special specified colors under the light source to be tested and the color under the reference light source. The reference light source uses daylight or incandescent light. To determine the color of an object, the light source must be determined first. CIE specifies four standard light sources.

Standard light source A: It is the light emitted by a complete radiator (black body) with a temperature of about 2856K. The actual standard light source A is a gas-filled tungsten bulb with a color temperature of 2856K.

Standard light source B: A specific liquid filter is added to the standard light source A to obtain approximately 4874K black body emission light, which is used to represent direct sunlight.
