The led glass tube can be insulated, and at the same time, the glass led tube will not appear aging, yellow lines, bending, etc., and the material cost of the glass tube itself is also quite low.
There are three main materials for LED tube kits: the first type, aluminum-plastic tube shell; the second, glass tube shell; and the third: all-plastic tube shell. Common LED tube shell materials on the market are mostly aluminum-plastic, which is not deformed, has good heat dissipation, long life, and many advantages. Even if it is broken, it is easy to repair. The led glass tube has obvious advantages such as low cost, resistance to aging, high light transmittance, and flame retardancy. There is a belief in the industry that the use of glass LED tubes instead of all-plastic and aluminum-plastic tubes commonly used in the current market may become a trend in the development of LED tubes in the future.

In my personal opinion, it has at least three fatal shortcomings. A. Glass heat dissipation is always far worse than aluminum heat dissipation. I have tested that when the glass near the lamp panel is very hot, the temperature of the glass relative to the lamp panel is still normal, that is, the heat dissipation is not good. If it is an aluminum tube, At this time, there is temperature. B. It is difficult to assemble. Maybe it is just done and the method is still being improved. But the glue is needed to fix it with the help of clamps. C. It is fragile, and the LED tube is damaged when it is touched, because it is ordinary Glass, it is easy to hurt people.
The opposing party’s opinion is as follows. Some people think that glass LED tubes have three major characteristics.
1. Good security, easy to pass certification. Using glass led tube, even if using non-isolated power supply, it can absolutely guarantee the safety of use, and it is easy to pass CE and UL certification. I have reservations about how to install a longer power supply.
2. Good performance of the glass tube.
a. The light transmittance of glass is higher than that of PC cover, and the whiteness is good, which is more conducive to light output.
b. The thermal stability of the glass is excellent, and the glass tube is in contact with the air at 360 degrees, and the heat dissipation is evenly distributed. The heat cannot be dissipated, and the glass is insulated.
c. The glass tube will not turn yellow under long-term light, and is more resistant to pollution and corrosion, and is more durable. Good material PC will not turn yellow
3. The shape of the glass tube is consistent with that of ordinary fluorescent tubes, which is more in line with people's inspection habits. How to differentiate?
Despite the shortcomings, it can be said that the LED glass tube is the current high cost-effective product. For places where the requirements are not high, it may be one of the inevitable trends in future development. Time will test everything.
